The Thundering Herd Band is excited to present our 2026 production "Wildflower," depicting the free spirit of the 70s counterculture and themes of the hippie era.
This season, the Thundering Herd performed "Chasing the Sun," finishing their season in 6th place in Area Finals out of 24 bands. This makes the 7th consecutive season that our Band has placed as Area finalists. The longest advancing streak so far!
Prior to the Area Marching Contest, the band performed in the Springtown, Aubrey, and Godley marching competitions, as well as performing every Friday night supporting the Zebra Football team.
This fall, students auditioned for placement into the All-State Jazz and All-State Concert bands. Grandview had a total of 7 students place into Area, with 2 who placed into the All-State band.
At the end of January, students will also compete in the UIL Solo and Ensemble contest, where they have the opportunity to advance and perform their solo or ensemble piece at the state level.
This spring, Grandview HS entered three concert recordings to the ATSSB OPS contest. For the first time in school history, all three of our submissions advanced to the Area level! Congratulations, Thundering Herd!
