Weekly Notes
Lots of info this week! Please read everything!
Routines, routines, routines
Band, we get to decide what is our normal. Is it normal for us to have some people late everyday? Is it normal for us to have great attendance? At the end of every season, we ask ourselves what could have gone better - what could have given us that little extra boost. Well, THAT starts now, NOT the week before it counts. We directors can say all the right things all season, but it takes YOU doing your part to put us ahead. Make a HABIT of excellence, and you will have the season you want to.
Rehearsals this week
We will rehearse each morning this week. Rehearsal begins at 6:30a, ready-to-go outside.
We will also have Monday evening rehearsal on the field from 6:30p to 8:30p. Full rehearsal calendar has been published on the homepage. If you have a job, use this and request your time off now. Work is never an excuse to miss a rehearsal or a performance.
1ST GAME THIS FRIDAY
This Friday, we will have our first football game against Glen Rose! Itinerary & info listed below.
Home Game Meals:
We do not cater or use the Meal Deal for home games. Most students choose to eat dinner before arriving. If students need to stay at the school to wait for the game, our Band Boosters will offer a Chick-fil-A sandwich meal for $8 to be picked up at the concession stand at 5pm. Orders MUST be placed by the deadline (Google Form will be sent out) and the meal MUST be paid for in CASH-ONLY when students pick it up Friday evening. This is the most efficient way for us to be able to provide this service!
Game Attire is Travel Uniform:
- Black travel shirt (new or old version is fine this year)
- Black athletic shorts
- Black socks (short or tall this time)

Rides
It is very common for people to need help finding a ride to rehearsal. We have an awesome network of student leaders and nearby parents who would be willing to help you carpool. Take the initiative and ask other students or let a director know. There is bound to be somebody who can help!
For all potential conflicts or concerns, please email Mr. Olson. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions at all, we are looking forward to a great year!
